Business Models
When considering the unique business models offered by RISE with SAP, we must first acknowledge the innovative approach they've taken: one contract, one offer. This streamlined strategy was introduced by SAP in 2021, and it primarily consists of SAP S/4HANA Cloud Suite, SAP Business Technology Platform Consumption, SAP Business Network Starter Pack, and SAP Business Process Intelligence.
This all-inclusive package provides companies with a wide array of tools, software, and services, all bundled with an infrastructure platform on the cloud of their choice. Some of the tools included are the Business Process Intelligence and Custom Code Analyzer, while the software component includes offerings like S/4 HANA and SAP BTP. Furthermore, the package comes with years of maintenance service as per the contract.
When we delve into the specific services offered, we find a plethora of options aimed at facilitating operations for businesses. With a single package, companies get a single point of contact for various aspects including network and security, infrastructure, operating system, database, or application. This effectively simplifies operations and facilitates issue management. Furthermore, the package comes with the advantage of services with defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs), providing a helping hand for managing operations and issue managemen.
A key facet of RISE with SAP's business model is the freedom it provides to its customers in choosing their cloud platform service provider. The choices currently include Google Cloud, Azure, AWS, and Alibaba, with IBM cloud also set to be included soon. This allows end customers to maintain total control over their cloud infrastructure.
RISE with SAP also offers technical managed services, a significant portion of which are dedicated to BASIS services. Approximately 80% of SAP BASIS tasks are handled by the RISE with SAP team. The remaining 20% includes duties like transport import, roles and authorization, RFC maintenance and system connections, SMTP setup, SICF services maintenance, among others. The primary role of the BASIS consultant (either from the partner or customer side) is to communicate and manage the technical services by raising service requests to SAP.
Furthermore, RISE with SAP gives customers options regarding the responsibility of SSL certificates for URLs. Customers can opt to own their domain and provide private keys and signed certificates to SAP, or they can choose the SAP-provided domain.
